AlMaknoon Retreats
1. Activity Description
AlMaknoon organizes and facilitates outdoor and adventure experiences, including but not limited to:

Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) Tours

Sightseeing Tours

Off-Road Adventures
-
Camping Experiences
The specific services, locations, accommodations, and experiences included in each activity are detailed in the respective trip description available at the time of purchase.
AlMaknoon reserves the right to modify, adjust, or substitute any advertised itinerary, accommodation, transport, or service when deemed necessary due to safety, weather conditions, logistical constraints, governmental requirements, or operational considerations, without constituting a breach of contract.
2. Booking & Payment Policy
(Trip Start Date: 20 March)
To confirm participation in the Algeria Expedition, full payment is required at the time of booking.
The total trip price shall be paid in full according to the selected accommodation type:

600 KWD per person for twin/double room accommodation

673 KWD per person for single room accommodation
No booking shall be confirmed, and no services shall be secured, unless full payment has been successfully received.
Accepted payment methods are displayed at checkout.
By submitting full payment, the Participant:

Confirms the selected room type and corresponding price

Acknowledges that all payments are subject to the cancellation and refund policy set forth herein

Expressly agrees to these Terms & Conditions and waives any right to claim non-acceptance based on the absence of a handwritten signature or separate contractual documentation
3. Visa Responsibility
AlMaknoon provides visa assistance and application support only.
Visa issuance remains the sole responsibility of the Participant.
In the event of visa rejection:

Any services not utilized may be reviewed at the Companyâs discretion

All payments remain subject to the cancellation policy
-
AlMaknoon shall not be liable for visa refusal or related losses
4. Assumption of Risk
Adventure and outdoor activities inherently involve risks, including but not limited to injury, illness, property loss, accidents, environmental hazards, extreme or unpredictable weather, terrain conditions, and the actions or omissions of other participants.
By booking, the Participant voluntarily assumes all such risks, whether known or unknown, foreseeable or unforeseeable.
5. Waiver and Release of Liability
By participating in any AlMaknoon activity, the Participant irrevocably waives, releases, and discharges AlMaknoon, its owners, directors, employees, guides, contractors, affiliates, and partners from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, or liabilities arising out of or related to participation, including claims arising from negligence, except where prohibited by law.
6. Medical Fitness
Participants must ensure they are physically and mentally fit to participate in remote and adventure-based travel.
All relevant medical conditions must be disclosed prior to departure.
AlMaknoon bears no responsibility for injuries, complications, or incidents arising from undisclosed or pre-existing medical conditions.
7. Cancellation, Changes, and Refunds
(Trip Start Date: 20 March)
Participant Cancellations
Due to advance, non-recoverable bookings (including flights, hotels, desert logistics, and ground services), the following policy applies:

Cancellation up to 5 February:
â 50% refund of the total trip price paid -
Cancellation from 6 February to 20 February:
â No refund
â Name substitution may be accepted subject to written approval and airline/service provider regulations -
Cancellation from 21 February onward, including no-show or failure to arrive on Day 1:
â Fully non-refundable
Single room supplements are strictly non-refundable once confirmed.
No refunds shall be issued for:

Late arrival
-
Early departure
-
Missed services or activities
-
Personal decisions or discomfort
Company Cancellations or Changes
AlMaknoon reserves the right to modify, reschedule, or cancel the trip due to safety, weather, operational, or force majeure circumstances.
In the event of cancellation by AlMaknoon, Participants may receive a full refund or a credit voucher, at the Companyâs discretion.
Force Majeure
No refunds, credits, or liability shall arise from cancellations or disruptions caused by events beyond the Companyâs control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, travel restrictions, political unrest, or acts of war.
8. Mandatory Check-In Requirements (Critical Condition)
The following check-ins are mandatory and constitute a condition of AlMaknoonâs responsibility toward the Participant:

Hotel check-in on Day 1 in Algiers

Hotel check-in upon arrival in Djanet
-
Check-in at the domestic airport for internal flights (Algiers â Djanet)
Failure to attend or complete any mandatory check-in shall:
-
Immediately release AlMaknoon from all responsibility and duty of care
-
Result in termination of all remaining services
-
Render the booking fully non-refundable
9. Activities & Desert Expedition Rule
All activities are optional, and Participants may choose to rest or refrain from any activity.
However, once the Djanet desert expedition (4x4 and camping segment) begins:
-
There is no possibility of returning to town or exiting the route
-
The expedition proceeds as a continuous journey due to safety and logistical constraints
Any Participant who voluntarily leaves or requests to return during the desert expedition shall:
-
Be immediately removed from the remainder of the trip
-
Forfeit all remaining services
-
Receive no refund or credit
-
Release AlMaknoon from all responsibility beyond the point of departure
10. Code of Conduct and Participant Responsibilities
Participants must comply with all instructions, safety rules, and guidance issued by AlMaknoon staff and guides.
Respect for the environment, local communities, and fellow participants is mandatory.
Alcohol and hookah are strictly prohibited during all activities.
Violation of the Code of Conduct may result in removal from the trip without refund.
11. General Liability Disclaimer
AlMaknoon shall not be liable for injuries, losses, delays, visa issues, missed connections, or personal property damage.
Participation is entirely at the Participantâs own risk.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Kuwait.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kuwait City.
13. Entire Agreement
This document constitutes the entire agreement between AlMaknoon and the Participant.
AlMaknoon reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time.
The version in effect at the time of booking shall apply.

DAY 1 - 18 DECEMBER
ARRIVAL IN ALGIERS
Arrive in Algiers and meet the local team at the airport.
Transfer to the hotel, settle in and rest after your international journey.

DAY 2 - 19 DECEMBER
ALGIERS: CITY BETWEEN HILLS AND SEA
A guided day through Algiers, exploring its streets, architecture, viewpoints and Mediterranean rhythm.
In the evening, transfer to the airport for the domestic flight to Djanet.
Arrival in Djanet after midnight, followed by hotel transfer.

DAY 3 - 20 DECEMBER
INTO TASSILI NâAJJER
After breakfast, we leave Djanet by 4x4 and enter the Tassili nâAjjer desert region.
The first day is about transition: learning the rhythm of the land, moving slowly into the open spaces and settling into camp before sunset.
Dinner is prepared by our local desert cook.

DAY 4 - 21 DECEMBER
DESERT STORIES
A full day exploring the sandstone landscapes of Tassili nâAjjer.
Expect dunes, dry valleys, rock formations, quiet viewpoints and time to simply sit with the place.
The route remains flexible according to weather, access, permits and the local teamâs guidance.

DAY 5 - 22 DECEMBER
FINAL DESERT MORNING & RETURN TO DJANET
Wake up for a final morning in camp.
After breakfast, we continue through the landscape before returning to Djanet.
Check into the hotel, shower, rest and prepare for the return journey north.

DAY 6 - 23 DECEMBER
RETURN TO ALGIERS
Early-morning transfer to Djanet Airport.
Fly back to Algiers and transfer to the hotel.
The afternoon is free for rest, a final walk in the city or personal time before international departure.

DEPARTURE
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to Algiers International Airport for your international departure.
This expedition is fully curated and supported from arrival to departure.

-Days are usually dry and comfortable for desert movement, while temperatures drop quickly after sunset.
-Bring warm layers, a proper sleeping bag, wool socks, gloves, a beanie and a headlamp.
This experience is for people who are comfortable with:

No advanced hiking experience is required.

Does the trip include international flights from Kuwait to Algeria?
â No, international airfare is not included.

How Does the visa process work?
AlMaknoon and our local partner provide visa assistance and support with the boarding-authorisation process.
The process begins once you submit a complete passport copy and required documents. Boarding authorisation is usually issued within around four weeks from the date the completed file is submitted.
Visa approval and final entry remain under the authority of Algerian immigration authorities.
