⏳ Agenda
Day 1 (31/3/2025): Airport pick up, dinner and camping under the stars at Jabal Shams basecamp
Day 2 (1/4/2025): All groups (EASY and DIFFICULT) 6 AM, breakfast
7 AM, hike to IMAX overlooking the grand canyon of Oman
10 AM, EASY group, descend to basecamp and do balcony walk
DIFFICULT group continue to Jabal Shams summit 3,200m above sea level
Lunch break with sandwiches at 1 PM
Back at basecamp, EASY group gather to reflect and socialize around the bonfire
Second camp, DIFFICULT group find a flat area half way up Jabal shams to camp
8 PM, dinner
10 PM, quiet hours and sleep
Day 3 (2/4/2025): 6 AM, DIFFICULT group has a light breakfast
7 AM, DIFFICULT group descends to base camp
10 AM, breakfast with the EASY group
12 PM, Make a move to Wadi Dhum
Hike throughout the day and enjoy the hidden pools in the nature of the wadi
5 PM, back to the camp to huddle around a bonfire
8 PM, dinner
10 PM, quiet hours under a sky full of stars to sleep
Day 4 (3/4/2025): 8 AM, breakfast
10 AM, driving to Nizwa, the Heritage Town
2 PM, check in to Nizwa Heritage Inn
visit The Old Souq and its Castles
Day 5 (4/4/2025): 9 AM, Enjoy a traditional Omani breakfast
12 PM, checkout and drive back to Muscat*
3 PM, Check in to Mysk AlMouj hotel
4 PM, trek the Sidab hike
Finally, visit The Old Mitrah Souq

*Arriving to Muscat is OPTIONAL, you may stay in for the extra activities or make your return home. We will provide an airport drop-off if necessary
NEED TO KNOW:
This trip will involve camping in the wild. Ensure you have the proper gear before embarking on this wonderful trip with us. In terms of shelter, you will need the following to be comfortable:
An overlander tent, a ground tent or a sleep setup in your vehicle -
A good sleeping bag rated for cold temperatures -
A sleeping pad or air mattress for insulation and comfort -
A camp pillow and extra blankets if needed -
When it comes to clothing and staying warm while out and about, you should have with you the following:
Weather-appropriate clothing (Base layer, mid-layers and outerwear) -
Quick-dry shirts and pants -
Insulated jacket and gloves for cold evenings -
Hats (sun hat and beanie for cooler nights) -
Decent hiking boots -
Sandals, slides or camp shoes -
Sunglasses and sunscreen -
Personal hygiene products -
That last point is especially important as bathroom services may not always be available in the wild
Additionally, there are some things you can bring with you that are nice to have. This is up to your interpretation, but you may always consider books, journals, a multi-tool, extra batteries and power banks, and anything else you feel will make you more comfortable at camp
