Born from a love for nature, stories, and soulful connection — AlMaknoon Retreats was created to reveal what’s hidden. "AlMaknoon" means the concealed, and that’s exactly what we aim to uncover: the forgotten paths, ancient lands, and deeper parts of ourselves.
We started with simple desert kashtas and grew into a movement — blending off-road adventures, historical storytelling, wellness gatherings, and cultural exploration across Kuwait and the Gulf.
Whether you join us for a wild camp under the stars or a mindful retreat by the sea, every experience is crafted with care, curiosity, and a deep respect for the land.

Mohammed Bin Hasan founded AlMaknoon Retreats with one clear mission: to reveal what’s hidden — in nature, in history, and within ourselves. A passionate adventurer with roots in Kuwait and a heart that roams across Arabia, he’s spent years navigating desert trails, off-roading through wadis in his Gen 2 Raptor, and following the whispers of ancient civilizations from Kuwait to Oman and beyond.
Fluent in Arabic, English, and Farsi, Mohammed bridges cultures and guides with heart — blending deep knowledge of history, geology, and local myths with the thrill of exploration. Whether he’s leading a group across the Green Mountains of Oman or hosting a starlit kashta in the Kuwaiti desert, every journey he creates is filled with meaning, connection, and raw beauty.
AlMaknoon isn’t just a travel company. It’s Mohammed’s way of inviting you to slow down, go deeper, and awaken the explorer within.
ADVENTURE GUIDE
At just 23, Mohammed Adel bin Hasan brings a powerful mix of youthful energy, outdoor skill, and warm hospitality to every AlMaknoon experience. After years studying in the United States, where he also trained as a professional rock climber, he returned home with a mission to reconnect with nature and share that passion with others.
Known for his calm confidence on the trail and his legendary BBQ nights by the fire, Mohammed plays a key role as co-guide — supporting guests, managing camp setups, and bringing heart to every kashta. Whether he's sweeping the end of a hike to make sure no one’s left behind or lighting up the grill after sunset, he always brings the same spirit: grounded, capable, and full of life.
To the AlMaknoon team, Mohammed isn’t just a co-guide — he’s a bridge between cultures, a rising outdoorsman, and a reminder that adventure can feel like home.

Behind every powerful AlMaknoon moment is Dalal Al-Mutawa — the soul who captures the story without saying a word.
As our lead photographer, Dalal blends emotion, light, and adventure into every frame. Her work isn’t just about images — it’s about feeling the story. Whether it’s a fleeting desert breeze or a spark of laughter by the campfire, she captures it all with quiet grace and natural timing.
She’s especially drawn to the Red Land of AlUbaid — her favorite AlMaknoon destination. The colors, the silence, the history… it’s where her creativity comes alive. You’ll often find her there, camera in one hand, one of her favorite watches on the other — capturing time in more ways than one.
Dalal’s photos reflect what makes AlMaknoon special: stillness, depth, and moments that stay with you forever.

Mohammed Bin Hasan, founder of AlMaknoon, has been in the field since 2017. With certifications in cave rescue, IRATA Level 1 rope access, and recognized as a Genius World Record holder, he’s lived a life on the front lines of adventure. He was also named one of the Top 10 Influencers in MENA by CP Magazine — not for trends, but for inspiring real change. After studying in Australia, he came back with a deeper love for both nature and Arabia. He believes that if he can positively impact just 1% of people — to think deeper, live closer to the land, and grow — then that’s the greatest success of all.
And he’s not alone.
By his side is Mohammed Adel bin Hasan, a natural adventurer, climber, and road tripper who brings his rock climbing expertise and U.S. experience into the wild — along with a legendary gift for BBQ.
And Dalal, our visual storyteller, captures moments that matter — from starlit skies to the laughter shared between strangers turned friends.
We are all trained in first aid, skilled off-road drivers, and each of us shows up with our own 4x4s — rugged, reliable, and ready. But we still carpool when we can, because sustainability isn’t something we say, it’s something we live.
This is who we are — a team that believes in the power of nature, in the beauty of untold stories, and in living life fully, wildly, and meaningfully.
